  1. Visual inspection & safety check

    • Housing, handles, guards, fixings, screws

    • Safety features (e.g. dead man’s switch, brake, protective bar)

    • Cables/plugs on electric machines; battery contacts on cordless machines

  1. Basic cleaning & care

    • Removal of grass residue, resin and dirt (especially around cooling air channels)

    • Cleaning airways/cooling system (to prevent overheating)

    • Care/lubrication of moving parts (depending on the machine)

  1. Drive system & wear parts check

    • Belts, control cables, bearings, wheels, drive components

    • Blades/cutting system: condition, fastening, sharpening/adjustment if needed

    • Chainsaw chain/bar: tension, condition, lubrication

  1. Engine service (petrol machines)

    • Oil level / oil change (depending on machine and interval)

    • Air filter clean/replace

    • Spark plug check/replace

    • Carburettor/idle adjustment (if required)

    • Fuel system check (hoses, seals, tank ventilation)

  1. Functional check & test run

    • Starting behaviour (cold/warm), running smoothness, performance

    • Noises/vibrations (possible signs of bearings/blade/belt issues)

    • Final test: the machine is ready for use
