Why rent a garden machine?

Buying a machine is not always the most practical or cost-effective choice, especially when you only need it once or a few times per year. Renting allows you to use the right machine for a specific task without having to purchase, store and maintain it yourself.

Renting is particularly useful when your own machine is being repaired, when you need specialist equipment for seasonal work, when you want to test a type of machine before buying one or when you simply do not have enough storage space.

OVDV takes care of the routine cleaning and maintenance of the rental machines, so you can focus on completing your garden project.

Which garden machines can you rent?

The current rental range includes machines such as lawn mowers, ride-on lawn mowers, garden tillers, backpack leaf blowers, chainsaws, cordless hedge trimmers and grass trimmers.

Availability may vary depending on existing reservations and the season. The images on the website are for illustration purposes. Depending on availability, the exact brand or model may differ, but the supplied machine will offer comparable functionality and performance.

What counts as one rental day?

One rental day means collecting the machine between 7:00 am and 9:00 am and returning it by 9:00 pm on the same day.

For rentals lasting several days, the machine must be returned by 9:00 pm on the final booked rental day.

Renting in six simple steps

1. Choose your machine

Browse the available rental machines and select the one that best suits your project. Each rental product page shows the daily rental price, available dates and important information about the machine.

If you are unsure what you need, send Olivier a short description, photo or video of the work you want to carry out.

2. Select your rental period

Choose the date on which you want to collect the machine and the date on which you will return it. The rental price is calculated according to the selected machine and rental period.

Please reserve early during busy gardening periods, as popular machines may already be booked.

3. Complete your reservation

Enter your contact details and complete the reservation online.

After we receive your reservation request, we will immediately check the availability of the selected machine for your chosen rental period. This allows us to avoid overlapping reservations and ensures that the machine is actually available when you need it.

We will confirm your reservation as soon as the availability check has been completed. Your reservation is only final once you have received confirmation from OVDV.

The confirmation will include the reserved machine, rental period, collection location and the relevant collection and return information.

In the unlikely event that the machine is no longer available for the selected period, we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss an alternative date or, where possible, a suitable alternative machine.

4. Collect the machine

Rental machines can be collected between 7:00 am and 9:00 am from:

Please arrive within this time window unless another collection time has been agreed in advance.

Please bring a valid ID and the required security deposit for the selected machine in cash when collecting your rental.

During collection, Olivier can provide a short practical explanation covering how to start and stop the machine, the main controls, safe operation and any machine-specific points to consider.

Make sure that your vehicle or trailer is suitable for transporting the selected machine safely. Transport for a ride-on lawn mower may be possible on request. Contact Olivier before booking to discuss availability and the applicable conditions.

5. Pay the refundable deposit

A refundable security deposit must be paid in cash when you collect the machine.

The security deposit is always equal to three times the rental price of the machine. For example, if the rental price is €50, the required security deposit is €150.

The exact deposit amount is stated on the relevant product page or communicated before collection.

The deposit is returned when the machine is brought back on time, complete with all supplied accessories and without damage beyond normal use, in accordance with the rental conditions.

The deposit may be retained in full or in part if the machine has been deliberately damaged.

6. Use and return the machine

Use the machine only for the agreed purpose and follow the instructions provided during collection.

For a one-day rental, return the machine by 9:00 pm on the same day. For a multi-day rental, return it by 9:00 pm on the final booked rental day.

After return, Olivier checks that the machine and its accessories have been brought back correctly. OVDV then takes care of the routine technical cleaning and maintenance.

What is included in the rental?

Your rental includes use of the selected machine during the agreed rental period, a short practical handover where necessary, the standard accessories stated on the product page, routine cleaning after return and regular maintenance of the rental machine.

Consumables, fuel, batteries, transport and additional accessories may differ per machine. Check the individual product page or ask Olivier before collection when anything is unclear.

What do you need to arrange yourself?

Before collection, make sure that you have:

• Suitable transport

• Enough space to secure the machine safely

• Appropriate clothing and personal protective equipment

• A valid ID

• The required security deposit in cash, equal to three times the rental price of the machine

• Enough time to collect and return the machine as agreed

Suitable protective equipment is essential when using machines such as chainsaws, hedge trimmers and grass trimmers.

Using the machine safely

Always use the machine carefully and according to the instructions provided. Inspect the working area before starting, remove stones, branches, cables and other obstacles, keep children and animals away and never remove or bypass safety components.

Stop using the machine immediately if you notice unusual noise, vibration, smoke, leakage, damage or another technical problem. Switch it off safely and contact Olivier. Do not attempt to repair or modify the machine yourself.

Returning the machine

Return the machine on time, with all supplied accessories and in a transport-safe condition. Remove excessive soil, mud, grass and garden waste before returning it.

You do not need to carry out full technical cleaning or maintenance. OVDV takes care of this after return.

If you cannot return the machine on time, contact Olivier as early as possible. An extension is only possible if the machine has not already been reserved by another customer.

Need the machine for longer?

A longer rental period may be possible depending on availability. Contact Olivier before the end of your current rental period and do not keep the machine longer without confirmation.
